  • Fire Safety Workshop at The Spring Mall


      500 Children Participate for the First ever Fire Safety Workshop at The Spring Mall (North Court), Kuching on 21 & 22 March 2009 

      “Fire Escape Workshop” at The Spring Mall, Kuching has been successful ended. All the children were leaving the mall with happy and excited because they successfully receive a “Certificate of Attendance” and a personal data card from FIPCOM.

      This is the first time Fire Prevention Council Malaysia – Sarawak Branch is organizing this Fire Safety Workshop jointly together with Bomba, SHEDA, ASSAR and Bomba Volunteer Kuching Zone. Fire Prevention Council Malaysia, better known as FIPCOM plans to bring this program to other parts of Sarawak state later this year.

    • It was getting the good response and attracts 500 children to participate for the workshop.

      This event has been officiated and launched by Y.B Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh Minister of Finance II cum Minister of Environment and Public Health at the Spring Mall, Kuching on Saturday, 21 March 2009 at 9 am.

      “This is 1st Fire Escape Workshop that organizes by FIPCOM in Sarawak, which has finally kicked off after few months of preparation. The effort put in from the teams and support from all the volunteers and Bomba is what really made this event a success. This fire safety workshop therefore represents a major step in our continuous effort towards building a safer Malaysia, and I would like to congratulate FIPCOM and Bomba every success in this program. I hope to see that this program to be reach out to other parts of Sarawak, to some remote parts of Sarawak.” Said Y.B. Dato Wong Soon Koh.

      This Fire Escape Workshop is a great opportunity to let children learn about fire escape method and improve their knowledge about the fire preventions. This 2 days workshop at The Spring Mall, North Court had been run in 4 to 6 sessions per day.

      Every session of the workshop, trainers from Bomba and qualify volunteers were put in full effort to make product explanation, demonstration, on fire escape methods and how to overcome the obstacles in the event of a fire. A “Certificate of Attendance” had been given to those who successfully complete the entire 6 steps process.

      The Fire Escape Workshop has been successfully grabbing about 500 children participation. It was the number of children out of expected. Free gift sponsor by FIPCOM and BOMBA finish given within 2 days.
