    PRESS RELEASE: COLLABORATION BETWEEN DESA PARKCITY AND FIRE PREVENTION COUNCIL MALAYSIA (FIPCOM) FOR THE LAUNCHING OF “ZERO-FIRE COMMUNITY” CAMPAIGN Saturday, 17 APRIL 2010 Desa ParkCity is the very first gated and guarded community in the country to take on a campaign by FIPCOM known as ‘ Zero-Fire Community’, the first of its kind here in Malaysia. The campaign was adapted from an international concept by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) known as ‘Disaster-Resistant Communities’, which holds an objective to prepare societies with relevant procedures and tools for survival in the event of a disaster. This campaign is a major step by FIPCOM in its effort to raise greater fire safety and prevention awareness, specifically in homes as fire incidents are most common in housing areas.     FireSafe Shop A Hunt - Tropicana City Mall - 13 June 2010

    FIPCOM in a collaboration with Tropicana City Mall and Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur (JCIKL) organised the FireSafe Shop A Hunt event during the school break. During this day of fun, parents formed groups with their children to complete tasks and hunt down clues based on shop outlets in the mall itself. Participating families were able to learn basic fire safety principles together by solving various puzzles and games. The teams that solved the puzzles the fastest were rewarded with cash and voucher prizes. After the success of this first event, similar FireSafe Shop A Hunt events were organised in Ipoh Parade and Sunway Carnival.

    Fire Safety Workshop for Children at One Utama Shopping Center

    Press Release Inaugural Fire Safety Workshop for Children at One Utama Shopping Centre  Kuala Lumpur: Fire Prevention Council Malaysia (FIPCOM), in collaboration with CIMB Foundation through CIMB Community Link, and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia) are organising the first Fire Safety Workshop 2009 for children at the Ground Floor, Main Entrance One Utama, New Wing on 30 and 31 May 2009. YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, Minister of Housing and Local Government will be officiating the event on 30 May 2009 at 11.00 a.m., at the same venue. The Fire Safety Workshop is free-of-charge and is open to children aged 4 to 12 years old, for them to learn about fire escape methods and improve their knowledge on fire preventions. The workshop will be held for 2 days at the shopping centre, with 5 one-hour sessions each day.     Fire Safety Workshop at The Spring Mall

    PRESS RELEASE  500 Children Participate for the First ever Fire Safety Workshop at The Spring Mall (North Court), Kuching on 21 & 22 March 2009  “Fire Escape Workshop” at The Spring Mall, Kuching has been successful ended. All the children were leaving the mall with happy and excited because they successfully receive a “Certificate of Attendance” and a personal data card from FIPCOM. This is the first time Fire Prevention Council Malaysia – Sarawak Branch is organizing this Fire Safety Workshop jointly together with Bomba, SHEDA, ASSAR and Bomba Volunteer Kuching Zone. Fire Prevention Council Malaysia, better known as FIPCOM plans to bring this program to other parts of Sarawak state later this year.
